OUR ONGOING PROJECTS

PARTNERING WITH FUSE CARIBBEAN FOR PLASTIC RECYCLING

As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability, EWT is proud to participate in Fuse Caribbean, a collaborative initiative aimed at tackling plastic waste in our region. One of the key aspects of our involvement is the separate collection and recycling of sealfoil plastic, which we gather and store in designated big bags.

Through Fuse Caribbean's innovative processes, this collected plastic is transformed into new usable products, contributing to the circular economy and reducing the environmental impact of plastic waste. We are excited to be part of this initiative and to play our role in creating a more sustainable future for Curaçao and beyond.

HARNESSING SOLAR POWER FOR SUSTAINABLE COOLING

We are currently in the process of installing solar panels as part of our sustainable energy initiatives. Phase 1 of this project involves the installation of 340 solar panels, allowing us to utilize green solar energy to cool our refrigeration and freezer units during the day.

By harnessing the power of the sun, we are not only reducing our reliance on traditional energy sources but also making a significant impact on our carbon footprint. With Phase 1 alone, we anticipate a reduction of approximately 85,000 kilograms of CO2 emissions per year.

Looking ahead, we have ambitious plans for Phase 2, which will further expand our solar capacity and enhance our sustainability efforts. With an estimated saving of 113,250 kilograms of CO2 emissions per year, Phase 2 will contribute to a total emission reduction of 198,250 kilograms of CO2 annually.

At EWT, we are committed to leading the way in sustainable practices, and our solar initiative is just one example of our dedication to creating a greener, more environmentally friendly future for our community and beyond. Stay tuned for more updates on our journey towards sustainability!
